Being a digital nomad language teacher can be quite lonely. When I started out in 2014, I felt that all other digital nomads were either travel bloggers or programmers. In the meantime, I’ve learnt that there’s much more variety.
However, as language teachers, we still have special requirements. Co-working spaces or cafés are usually no options when we meet our students on Skype. We depend on relatively fast and stable wi-fi and work from our (temporary) homes. And that can make us lonely in our professional life.
When I founded the Facebook Group for Digital Nomad Language Teachers at the beginning of 2017, I wanted to give travelling language teachers the opportunity to connect with others and share information and experiences.
